Old mattress removal:  Allswell offers a white-glove delivery and mattress removal service for a fee.

Payment accepted, financing:  Allswell provides 0%-30% APR on orders over $250 and three, six, and nine month terms. This is open to all states except West Virginia and Iowa and is offered through Affirm.

Returns and refund:  If you aren’t happy with your mattress, you can return it for free within the trial period for a full refund. Allswell does require that you sleep on your mattress for three weeks before initiating the returns process.

Packaging and unpacking:  Allswell mattresses are bed-in-a-box mattresses. They are compressed, rolled, wrapped in plastic, and arrive at your house in a cardboard box. They are easy to unpack within a few minutes – or you can enlist the services of their white-glove deliverymen to do it for you. Mattresses take a little time to decompress and fully take shape. This might take a couple of days in the Supreme and Luxe models.

Smell (off gassing), harmful chemicals:  As with most bed-in-a-box mattresses, there is slight off-gassing on unpacking. This wasn’t particularly noxious and the smell had completely cleared in a couple of days. The memory foams used in the different models on offer from Allswell are all CertiPUR-US certified, meaning they are free from nasty chemicals and toxins.

Where are the mattresses made?  Allswell mattresses are made in the USA by the reputable team at Brooklyn Bedding.

Allswell mattress performance review

Allswell mattresses have very quickly lodged themselves amongst some of my top recommendations. My reasoning is simple: I believe that most people who buy an Allswell mattress will be extremely satisfied with their purchase.

Without question, you get a lot of bed for your dollars when you buy an Allswell mattress. This means, if you are a frugal shopper, if you’re looking for a mattress for your spare room, or if you are a student on a budget, these mattresses are the best place to start your search.

Across the range, there is a mattress for all sleeping positions and all body sizes. The hybrid construction means you get the comfort of memory foam with the support and durability of pocketed coils. Even the middle tier option is a formidable contender in the hybrid mattress market and all three are exceptionally comfortable. Unless you have very clear preferences beyond the offering of Allswell, this stable of mattresses is a very exciting new option for bed buyers around the country.

Construction layers and materials used

Allswell Mattress

Allswell’s base model mattress has a durable polyfoam foundation supporting individually-wrapped 6-inch pocketed coils. This is followed by a transitional layer of 2-inch soft polyfoam. Not only is this a buffer for the coils below, this is also charcoal- and gel-infused memory foam which has cooling abilities. The top of this mattress is capped with the Allswell signature quilted cover.

Allswell Luxe

The 12-inch Allswell Luxe also rests upon a support foam foundation. The individually-wrapped coils minimize motion across the surface of the mattress provide the great comfort and support of this mattress. This is followed by additional comfort layers which make this such a high caliber hybrid. One inch of high-density foam meets two inches of copper gel-infused memory foam which is anti-microbial and soothing. The quilted top of this mattress is also made with SwirlFoam, a neutral foam for cooling.

Allswell Supreme

The 14-inch Supreme is the crème de la crème of the range – and it owes its luxury to its construction. It too has a dense polyfoam foundation which supports pocketed coils and a Reinforced Quantum Edge. As with the Luxe, Allswell has added even more value to the Supreme in its comfort layers. The coils are cushioned by a two-inch transitional layer made from Energex foam which is geared towards pressure relief. This offers the comfort of memory foam with fast responsiveness that is pretty unique from a foam. This is then topped with a copper and graphite infused gel memory foam for cooling and anti-microbial properties. The EuroTop gives the Supreme an enhanced softness in comparison with the other models and this, of course, has the same quilted cover.

Allswell mattresses firmness and pressure relief

All three mattresses in the range slant on the firm side. The base model Allswell Mattress is between a medium and a medium-firm, the Luxe model is more of a true medium, while the Supreme is a medium-plus. That said, the Luxe and Supreme varieties have comfort layers that give it a really plush and comfortable feel. As mentioned earlier in the review, broadly speaking, these mattresses are suitable for all sleeping positions and most body weights. Even the base model, which is a little on the firmer side compared to the others, offers pressure relief, support, and spinal alignment for even petite side sleepers.

Sleep position and body type

As mentioned earlier in this review, there is a mattress for all sleeping positions and body types among the range available at Allswell. Our experience was a comfortable one and I didn’t notice any deficits when it came to pressure relief and spinal alignment. However, as with all mattresses, different body shapes will have an impact on your overall mattress experience, so I will go into this in a little more detail.

The Allswell base model mattress, being the firmest of the three, may not offer the pressure relief petite side sleepers would like. While I think most side sleepers won’t have a problem, a few side sleepers across all weight categories might prefer a little added support along contact points with the mattress. Heavier people also tend to find mattresses advertised as firm softer than they expected, but the Allswell base model is a good option in this weight category too. In general, this is a really good option for side, back, stomach, and combination sleepers.

The Allswell Luxe is also suitable for all sleeping positions and body types but, of the three, I think it is the one that might address some of the firmness issues some consumers may encounter with the base model.

Again, the Allswell Supreme is for all sleeping positions and body types. If you are a side sleeper and you are concerned about the firmness levels of the other two models, the extra comfort levels of the Supreme might ease your mind (and your shoulders… and your hips), especially if you are in the average to heavy weight category. Average to heavy stomach and back sleepers might appreciate a little extra firmness for support.

Allswell edge support

Across all three mattresses, Allswell has really focused on edge support and the result is that it offers pretty good performance on this front. The Allswell Mattress has added edge support on two sides. The Luxe has edge support on all four sides and, looking at edge support in the context of cost, this performs really well for the price you pay. Similarly, the Supreme provides really good performance for price. The Supreme offers Reinforced Quantum Edge Support. This means it has been reinforced for strength.

Allswell mattress temperature regulation

All three mattresses in the Allswell range are temperature neutral. There are a few features across the different varieties aimed at cooling and this means, if you tend to sleep a little more on the hot side, these mattresses could keep the temperature pretty stable.

With all three, the beauty of coils is that it promotes aeration which, in turn, helps to cool. The firmness of the Allswell Mattress base model also contributes to the temperature of the mattress because you sleep more on top of the bed than buried in it which also keeps you cooler. The transitional layer is made from charcoal gel-infused memory foam which wicks warmth.

The Allswell Luxe and Supreme both have a couple of additional cooling features. In the Luxe, the SwirlFoam layer promotes a neutral feel; while the copper and gel-infused layer of the Supreme also serves the same function.

Motion isolation and noise

All three mattresses offer very good motion isolation and I believe the vast majority of sleepers wouldn’t be disturbed by movement during the night. I also couldn’t pick up on any noise emanating from any of the varieties.

Is Allswell suitable for couples and sex?

Allswell mattresses are a fantastic choice for couples. The motion isolation and overall noiselessness from the construction makes for undisturbed sleep when sharing a bed. The edge support – particularly of the middle and upper tier models – enables you to sleep right up to the edge. Incidentally, this is one of the features that makes it a good choice for sex, along with the fact that they provide immediate responsiveness.

Durability and longevity

Allswell is a newcomer to the mattress world and this means the longevity of their mattresses are yet to be seen. However, there is a lot about these mattresses that point towards quality and durability. Firstly, you can see it for yourself in its stitching and construction. The quality of the materials used is good and things like the polyfoam foundation have earned a reputation for longevity. Allswell also offers a ten-year warranty on all of their mattresses, which is usually a telling marker when it comes to durability.

Bed base

Allswell mattresses are not base-specific and all mattresses can be used with the platform of your choice according to your preference.

Allswell mattress complaints

I have not come across a bad review for Allswell mattresses. When it comes to online opinion, I picked up on the following comments:

  • The mattress was too firm for people needing extra cushioning.
  • Some stomach and back sleepers also would have preferred a little extra softness.

Our final verdict: Do we recommend the Allswell mattress brand?

OUR RATING

4/5

4/5

I would definitely recommend Allswell mattresses. The value on these mattresses are immense and you don’t even need to go beyond the mid-tier Luxe version to get the incredible quality, benefits, and features of a hybrid mattress. I think you will be hard-pressed to find this standard for the price anywhere else – and that makes it worth a try if you are shopping for a new mattress.

Most importantly in the land of slumber, it is comfortable – and I believe that most people will agree. No matter your sleeping position, no matter your weight, Allswell gives you some great options to consider.
